    • Intended Audience: Recent hires at Hydraulic Institute and FSA member companies who are new to the pump or sealing industry.

      Registration Fee: $550 includes all meals, receptions, tours and outings.

      The Pump Industry Leaders of Tomorrow (PILOT) Program fosters networking and introduces participants to our industry and its association, standards, and benefits.  The program provides a forum where future leaders will meet OEM and supplier counterparts, learn from industry experts, and develop business relationships that will be critical assets along their career path.  High potential individuals from all job functions are encouraged to attend.

      Program Highlights: The program is offered in conjunction with the HI and FSA Fall Conference and provides an opportunity for the new generation of leaders to gain from the collective knowledge of industry veterans with decades of experience.  In addition to the full day of targeted educational sessions shown below, PILOT attendees will participate with other HI members in meal functions, general session presentations, select committee meetings, and offsite functions.  Scroll down for more information and use the link at the right for a full program agenda..

      7:30 – 8:30 am Orientation Breakfast
      8:30 – 9:30 am Introduction to Trade Associations: Understand how trade associations operate, the basics of anti-trust and the importance of engagement.  From advocacy to technical activities to education, learn how companies and individuals both benefit from membership. 
      9:30 – 10:15 am The role and Importance of Standards: Understand the role of standards (HI, ISO, API, etc.) and how they relate to regulations and trade. Using the DOE Energy Conservation Standard and Test Procedure as a case study, learn how regulations are developed and about the growing need for advocacy on behalf of the industry.
      10:30 – 11:00 am Energy Efficiency: Did you know that an estimated 40% of industrial energy is consumed by pumping systems?  Learn about the programs HI has created to help pump users reduce energy costs and improve system performance.
      11:00 am – 12:00 pm Leadership Lessons from the Top (CEO Panel): Ask industry CEO’s how they set career and life goals to get to where they are today.  Learn what is important to them as leaders and what they would do (or do differently) if they had to do it all over again. 
      12:00 – 1:30 pm Lunch with Fall Conference Attendees and Pump Knowledge Presentation
      1:30 - 2:45 pm Future of the Industry and IIoT: Learn about exciting new advances in technology and how they are reshaping the pump industry.
      2:45 – 3:30 pm Following the Markets: Understand our industry’s markets, which indicators are important to follow and why. Learn the importance of trends and data and how to add depth and perspective to analysis and develop more informed decision-making skills. 
      3:45 – 4:30 pm Marketing: Parts, components or systems… direct or through distribution… How we position our companies and our products to continue to evolve.  Understand the challenges in today’s marketplace.
      4:30 – 5:30 pm Networking: Learn how to build a personal brand and develop relationships through social media, digital communications, conferences, etc. Map out a personal networking strategy to advance your own career development.
