Single stage, single suction, in-line pumps, all sizes. ANSI B73.1 compliant.
Type 3B

Type 5D
Single stage, single suction, recessed impeller design, foot or frame mounted, or closed coupled (in which case include driver) pumps, all sizes.
Type 6A
Single stage, single suction, centerline mounted pumps. API 610 compliant.
Type 6B
Single stage, single suction, centerline mounted pumps, all others.
Single stage, axially split case, double suction impeller pumps. Seven inch and below discharge. NOTE: Do not include in this class pumps which would also fit in class 7C.
Type 7B
Single stage, axially split case, double suction impeller pumps. Over seven inch discharge
Type 7C
Single or multi stage, axially split, Factory Mutual and/or U.L. approved fire pumps. Include driver, base fittings and control (when furnished). NOTE: Do not include jockey pumps, its control or unlabeled pumps sold for fire protection service. Non labeled pumps should be included under their appropriate categories.
Type 7Da
Single stage, radially split case, double suction impeller pumps. API-610 compliant.
Type 7Db
Single stage, radially split case, double suction impeller pumps, all other.
Type 8Aa
Two stage, volute or diffuser design, radially split case pumps. NOTE: Do not include pumps which will also fit type 1 and do not include double casing barrel pumps which belong in type 17.
Type 8Ar
Two stage, volute or diffuser design, axially split case pumps.

Type 8Ba

Type 9A
Sewage type, single stage, single suction, vertical or horizontal frame mounted or close coupled pumps with non-clog impeller design with 12 inch or less discharge. Include drivers of close coupled pumps. NOTE: Do not include pumps which would also fit in type 5D or 10A, 10B or 10C.
Type 9B

Vertical turbine pumps and bowl assemblies, 16 inch and smaller, with column and shaft lengths greater than 30 feet (normally a well pump). NOTE: Do not include pumps which would also fit in 12F.
Type 12B
Vertical turbine pumps and bowl assemblies, 16 inch and smaller, with column and shaft lengths less than 30 feet (normally called short coupled pumps). NOTE: Do not include pumps which will also fit into type 12C, 12E or 12F.
Type 12C
Vertical turbine pumps and bowl assemblies, 16 inch and smaller, suction can or put type.
Type 12D
Vertical turbine pumps and bowl assemblies 17 inches through 36 inches.
Type 12E
Vertical turbine pumps and bowl assemblies, 17 inches through 36 inches, suction can or pot type.
Type 12F
Vertical turbine fire pumps that are approved by Factory Mutual or U.L. Include the driver, gear fittings and control (when furnished). NOTE: Not included are jockey pumps, its control or unlabeled pumps sold for fire protection service.

MOTORS
Type 11
Prime movers for types 3 through 7B, 7Da through 9B, 15, 17, 19 through 20A and 21. Include motors, gears, turbines engines, variable speed drivers, etc. NOTE: Do not include controls or those close coupled drivers that are included with the pumps in 5D or 9A.
Type 16A
Prime movers for types 12 through 13A, except 12F. Include motors, gears turbines engines, variable speed drivers, etc. But not controls.
