Overview:
This standard is intended to provide uniform procedures for performance, hydrostatic, net positive suction head required (NPSHR), submersible motor integrity, and vibration testing of submersible pumps; and data recording and reporting of the test results. It is intended to define test procedures that may be invoked by contractual agreement between a purchaser and manufacturer.
This standard is applicable for the pulp and paper, mining, wastewater, and industrial or residential application that must submerge a pump at the bottom of a well or chamber. End users, pump manufacturers who need to understand what test tolerances are necessary for their application, and test lab managers who must know how to set up labs and record data for pump testing would benefit from purchasing this standard.
