Overview:
This standard provides guidelines for pump type classifications, materials of construction, airborne sound measurement, and decontamination of rotodynamic and positive displacement pumps.
This standard applies to all applications of positive displacement and rotodynamic pumps. Readers will learn about the classification of all pump types, how and where to measure sound levels for pumps, correction for background noise during sound level testing, standard materials of construction of pumps, and relative resistance to cavitation erosion for select materials.
