HI provides resources for the development of the pump industry’s workforce

The pump industry is essential and growing. With water challenges on the rise, increased commitments to water infrastructure investment and the US pump market projected to grow at around 3.4% over the next five years, the need for qualified and motivated talent has never been higher.

With opportunities in virtually every sector of society, pumping is perhaps the most critical function that makes up the numerous vital processes that contribute to human development.  Pumping is a process – but it is also an industry and a career.  As such it is emerging as an attractive choice for it individuals with a wide range of aptitudes and skills who want to put them to meaningful use. 

To help build awareness among newcomers and educate them on the industry, the Hydraulic Institute has launched two key campaigns designed to inform the future workforce of the impressive range of careers a pump professional can have.

  • Pump PROfiles informs newcomers about career opportunities in the pump industry and the skills needed to be successful.
  • Pump Pros Know highlights the brilliance of some of today’s outstanding pump professionals, their different areas of expertise, and real-world solutions.

This is just a first step on a long journey to connect a new generation with career paths and a community they may never have considered. To help professionals already in the industry advance their careers and upskill for the future, HI offers educational resources on Pump System Matter’s Training site.
