For Rafiq Qutub pumps were love at first sight. Both his parents were civil engineers and so were his uncles. Qutub enjoyed math and science at school, but what really got him hooked on pumps was seeing them in action.
When something new comes along, someone has to be the first to do it. For the Hydraulic Institute’s Pump System Assessment Professional (PSAP) certification, that person was Keith Schindler, a hydraulic engineer and oil and gas specialist with Flowserve Corp.

Most municipal water case studies do not begin in a lab, but this one does. Eric Dole, a certified Pump System Assessment Professional (PSAP) with two patents to his name, was conducting research on electrocoagulation in a lab at Red Rock Community College outside Denver. A supervisor at Consolidated Mutual Water, who also taught at the school, was curious about the test and introduced himself.
